One of my favorite songs comes from Les Miserables: Castle on a Cloud, sung by the sweet Cosette:
There is a castle on a cloud,
I like to go there in my sleep,
Aren't any floors for me to sweep,
Not in my castle on a cloud.
There is a room that's full of toys,
There are a hundred boys and girls,
Nobody shouts or talks too loud,
Not in my castle on a cloud.
There is a lady all in white,
Holds me and sings a lullaby,
She's nice to see and she's soft to touch,
She says "Cosette, I love you very much."
I know a place where no one's lost,
I know a place where no one cries,
Crying at all is not allowed,
Not in my castle on a cloud.
There is a castle on a cloud,
I like to go there in my sleep,
Aren't any floors for me to sweep,
Not in my castle on a cloud.
There is a room that's full of toys,
There are a hundred boys and girls,
Nobody shouts or talks too loud,
Not in my castle on a cloud.
There is a lady all in white,
Holds me and sings a lullaby,
She's nice to see and she's soft to touch,
She says "Cosette, I love you very much."
I know a place where no one's lost,
I know a place where no one cries,
Crying at all is not allowed,
Not in my castle on a cloud.
This "castle" is found in Manti, Utah. I got to visit on Valentine's Day with Prince Charming, and it was absolutely wonderful. Not only was the structure itself magnificent, I just felt so happy to be there and serve the Lord. It was built in the late 1800s, which is so amazing considering the lack of technology and tools that we use today to build such edifices. Without a doubt, its construction was directed by the Lord. We saw the original spiral staircases: 6 stories tall and 151 steps. It was so beautiful.

Bea u ti ful ... Just beautiful!
As I read this I was remembering last Friday when we had the chance to clean the Detroit temple (it's was our ward's turn this month so we had 7 people there to help on all the Tuesdays and Fridays in Feb.) "[Weren't] any floors for me to sweep..." but I did do a lot of dusting & vacuuming. :) Glad you guys made it to Manti. We never did, and I'm still kicking myself over this.
It's beautiful, and I love the picture of you guys together
Gotta say, that's always been one of my top musical songs of all time. Still, you're a hopeless romantic. Cum se spune sappy? :)
Tess, I love that song too! There was always one part that used to bother me (where she sings "hundred boys and girls" instead of "girls and boys") because I thought they should have made it rhyme. Anyway, that's a side note!
I love the picture of you and Kevin in front of the temple. Eight to go - how exciting!
Those pictures are gorgeous! I am impressed with 5 temples. I've only been to 3 maybe 4 and have lived here for close to 7 years. Time to get crackin
